According to one embodiment, loose-tube fiber optic cables may include a cable core and a jacket. The cable core may include a buffer tube and an optical fiber and the optical fiber may be positioned within the buffer tube. At least a portion of the buffer tube by include a first phase that includes a first polymer and a second phase that includes a second polymer, where the first polymer and the second polymer are different chemical compositions.
