Summary:The invention relates to a method for protecting an electrical modular unit (8) from overcurrent damage by virtue of an inductive component (38) converting electrical energy into magnetic and thermal energy, in which a bypass (24, 24a-c) bypasses the inductive component (38) during regular operation of the modular unit (8) and current flows via the bypass (24, 24a-c).
