Provided is an induction heating device that suppresses excessive heating of an edge portion without a significant decrease in heating efficiency. An induction heating device for heating a thin plate-shaped item to be heated comprises a first heating coil formed substantially in the shape of a root symbol, and a second heating coil formed substantially in the shape of a root symbol and electrically connected to the first heating coil, wherein the first heating coil and the second heating coil are disposed substantially parallel to the thin plate-shaped item to be heated so as to form a first space by intersecting in the vicinity of an edge portion of the thin plate-shaped item to be heated, in a mutually electrically un-connected region, while forming a second space and a third space in regions outside the first space, where the thin plate-shaped item to be heated is not being transported, the first heating coil and/or the second heating coil being movable in a direction perpendicular to a transport direction
