Summary:Provided is a fast, easy, and highly accurate method for determining the prognosis of cancer. A method for determining the prognosis of a patient with renal cell carcinoma, wherein the method includes (1) a step for treating genomic DNA prepared from the renal tissue of a subject using bisulfite, (2) a step for amplifying the DNA treated using bisulfite by PCR, (3) a step for subjecting the resulting PCR amplification product to ion exchange chromatography, (4) a step for obtaining the retention time of a detection signal obtained by chromatography, and (5) a step for determining that the prognosis of the subject's renal cell carcinoma is unfavorable if the result of step (4) is shorter than a retention time serving as a reference. 本发明提供种迅速、简便且高精度的癌预后判定方法。种肾细胞癌患者的预后判定方法,包括以下工序:(1)将由受检者的肾脏组织制备的基因组DNA用亚硫酸氢盐进行处理的工序;(2)将该被亚硫酸氢盐处理了的DNA通过PCR进行扩增的工序;(3)将得到的PCR扩增产物供给离子交换色谱的工序;(4)获得在该色谱中得到的检测信号的保留时间的工序;(5)工序(4)的结果比成为基准的保留时间早的情况下,将受检者的肾细胞癌判定为预后不良的工序。
