Summary:The invention provides a workpiece front end positioning method for use in turning operations, comprising: placing a workpiece in a positioning sleeve; pushing the workpiece to a preset position of the positioning sleeve through a positioning shank mounted on a turret; clamping the workpiece through a hydraulic chuck, retreating the positioning shank and the turret to a mechanical zero position of a machine tool, and rotating the turret to a thread rolling hob position; feeding the thread rolling hob position of the turret to a position to be threaded; rotating the workpiece by the hydraulic chuck, and linearly moving the turret to the hydraulic chuck to thread the position to be threaded; after threading of the workpiece, retreating the turret to the mechanical zero position of the machine tool, stopping rotating the hydraulic chuck, loosening the hydraulic chuck, and automatically ejecting out the threaded workpiece by the positioning sleeve.
