Summary: | The invention relates to a method for model-based determination of a cylinder charge in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, wherein the internal combustion engine has a variable valve lift which will be considered in the model-based determination, wherein the modeling of the cylinder charge of the combustion chamber is performed by at least one neuronal network (12), wherein at least three input values are input into the neuronal network. According to the invention, in the at least one neuronal network (12), a pressure quotient (c) is used as one of said at least three input values, wherein the pressure quotient (c) will at least indirectly be determined from a pressure (b) of the air sucked by the internal combustion engine and an operating pressure (a).
