Summary:Outer circumferential surfaces (33, 35) of opening-side end sections (30, 31) in a press-molded front cover (12) and pump shell (7) are machined such that the outer diameter dimensions thereof become the same. In a state in which the opening-side end sections are caused to protrude, a laser beam (R) or other high-energy beam is irradiated towards the protruding surfaces (30, 31) from the outer diameter direction, and same are welded.
