Summary:The invention discloses a catalytic hydrogenation method for decreasing the index of linear alkylbenzene bromide. The method includes the steps of mixing hydrogenation raw material with hydrogen and making the mixture make contact with and react with a transition metal phosphide loaded type catalyst at a temperature of 60-400 DEG C, pressure of 0.3-10.0 MPa, quality airspeed of 0.2-8.0 h<-1> and hydrogen-to-oil volume ratio of 300:1 to 8000:1 so that olefin saturation can be achieved, the index of linear alkylbenzene bromide can be decreased and product quality can be improved, wherein the hydrogenation raw material is linear alkylbenzene obtained by conducting distillation separation on a benzene and C10-C14 linear olefin alkylation mixture or is the benzene and C10-C14 linear olefin alkylation mixture.
