Summary: | The disclosure relates to a method for monitoring the state of a battery. According to the method, the internal temperature of the battery during a charging process is determined and monitored. In the process, the internal temperature (T) of the battery is determined in defined intervals at different time points (k), and an evaluation unit continuously determines a temperature gradient (TGrad) at least from the temperature values (T1, T2). At least one limit value (S1) for the temperature gradient (TGrad) is stored in the evaluation unit, and the evaluation unit generates a signal when the temperature gradient (TGrad) which is determined by the evaluation unit reaches this limit value (S1).
