Summary:The present invention relates to wearable transdermal neurostimulators. Lightweight and wearable neurostimulators for applying transdermal electrical stimulation and methods of using them for inducing a cognitive effect are disclosed. These apparatuses are lightweight and wearable and configured to be worn on a subject's temple and securely and comfortably fit a variety of head sizes in conjunction with an electrode assembly. These neurostimulator apparatuses may include hardware, software and/or firmware components that are configured to safely and effectively apply high current intensity (e.g., using a high voltage source). These apparatuses may also be configured to uniquely identify which electrodes (if any) are coupled to the neurostimulator, and to deliver complex (e.g., ensemble) waveforms that may include a capacitive discharge component to enhance user comfort.
