The invention relates to the computer field, and discloses an information processing method and electronic equipment, thus solving the technical problems in the prior art that population characteristic vocabularies of specific user populations are slow in updating speed; the method is applied to the electronic equipment, and comprises the following steps: obtaining N characteristic vocabularies of an electronic equipment user, wherein the N is a positive integer; determining whether a random characteristic vocabulary of the N characteristic vocabularies is the population characteristic vocabulary of the user specific population or not, thus determining M population characteristic vocabularies from the N characteristic vocabularies, wherein the population characteristic vocabularies comprise characteristic vocabularies of at least two users of the specific user population, and the M is a positive integer smaller than N; using the M population characteristic vocabularies to update a user dictionary of the elect
