The present invention relates to a method for intelligently managing the number of use times of a drinking water barrel. The method comprises: embedding a drinking water barrel chip into a drinking water barrel, wherein an unique drinking water barrel identification code corresponding to the drinking water barrel is carried on the chip; a card reader reading the drinking water barrel identification code of the chip; the card reader uploading read information wirelessly or wiredly to a control system ; the control system setting a set value of the maximum number of use times for the drinking water barrel; in an empty barrel warehousing stage, enabling a warehousing card reader to read the chip to obtain the drinking water barrel identification code, then the control system accumulating the number of use times of the drinking water barrel with the drinking water barrel identification code once; and at the same time, comparing the number of use times with the set value, if the number of use times exceeds the set
