Summary:The invention discloses a formula of porous ceramic for a three-way catalytic converter of an automobile and a preparation method of the porous ceramic. The formula is characterized by comprising raw materials in parts by weight as follows: 90-100 parts of alumina sol, 40-60 parts of micro-nano alpha-Al2O3, 20-30 parts of a pore forming agent, 0-5 parts of an adhesive, 2-5 parts of a binding agent and 250-350 parts of an acid solution with the pH (potential of hydrogen) being 3-4, wherein the pore forming agent is inorganic salt; the binding agent comprises calcium sulfate. According to the formula of the porous ceramic for the three-way catalytic converter of the automobile and the preparation method of the porous ceramic, a sol-gel method and the inorganic salt serving as the pore forming agent are adopted for preparation of the porous ceramic which has uniform pores and high porosity, the specific surface area of the porous ceramic is large, the porous ceramic has multiple catalytic activation sites, and the purification capacity is high.
