The invention provides a method for making a ground mat through waste clothes. The method comprises the steps that the dried waste clothes are washed and bleached in classified mode and then dried and cut into strip cloth, one half of the strip cloth is twisted into a first rope, side edges of the other half of the strip cloth are cut into tassel strips, and the strip cloth with the tassel strips is twisted into a second rope, a PET monofilament net serves as a third rope, three-strand weaving is carried out to obtain a base material, the first rope performs a body role, the tassel strips on the second rope enable the ground mat to be soft and comfortable, the third rope performs the supporting role, and the ground mat can be prevented from becoming hard and solid after being used for a long time. The upper surface of a bottom lining is coated with a layer of epoxy resin, then the two side faces of the base material are each coated with a layer of epoxy resin, the base material is put on the bottom lining according to a snake-shaped path to be heated, and the edge of the bottom lining and the base material are sewn through PET monofilaments to obtain the ground mat. According to the method, the waste clothes are made into the ground mat, waste is reused, and the making process is simple.
