Summary:The invention relates to a sewage treatment method for purifying refractory organic pollutants. The method comprises the steps: firstly treating refractory organic substances in sewage by a biofilm-electrode reactor method; then, degrading organic substances in the sewage by microbial fuel cells, and meanwhile, generating electric energy; and enabling the electric energy generated by the microbial fuel cells to serve as a power supply for the biofilm-electrode reactor method. According to the sewage treatment method, the generation and demand of the electric energy serve as a link so as to realize the effective coupling of a reaction process and reaction types in a system, and thus the aim of efficiently removing the refractory organic substances is achieved. Thus, the sewage treatment method provides an effective way for easing current energy crisis and solving environmental problems and has immeasurable application and development potential.
