Summary:The present invention discloses an electronic book retrieval method and apparatus of a client. The method comprises: receiving input of an electronic book keyword; and performing intelligent matching according to the electronic book keyword, and popping up an intelligent matching box, wherein the intelligent matching box displays non-text information, text information and a read permission of a first matching result. According to the foregoing solutions provided the present invention, an electronic book retrieval result may be quickly and directly displayed for the user, and when the user does not has the read permission, a permission obtaining button is directly displayed for the user. Steps are simple in operation, and are especially suitable for the mobile client of a small size such as a mobile phone. According to the retrieval method, not only a user operation is facilitated, but also time and energy of the user are saved, and result selection accuracy is improved.
