Summary:The invention provides an information prompting method and device and an electronic device. The information prompting method comprises the steps of judging whether the electronic device satisfies a preset prompting information generation condition or not based on a current operating application object when the electronic device is in a screen locked state, wherein the preset prompting information generation condition at least comprises that target application objects which satisfy a preset cleaning condition operates; when the electronic device is judged to satisfy the preset prompting information generation condition, generating prompting information, wherein the prompting information comprises target identifiers of cleanable target application objects; obtaining a system notification that the screen of the electronic device is lighted on; outputting the prompting information on a screen locking interface. By outputting the prompting information about the existence of the cleanable application objects on the screen locking interface in the scheme, the prompting information can be enabled to be more striking and convenient to view, and the user can conveniently clean the cleanable application programs.
