Disclosed in the invention is a charging system for an electric car. The system comprises a user terminal, a first server, and a charging pile. The user terminal is used for sending a charging request; and the charging request is used for making a request of charging an electric car and carries user identifier information. The first server is used for receiving the charging request and determining whether the user identifier information is preset user identifier information; and if so, a charging control instruction is generated, wherein the charging control instruction is used for indicating the charging operation for the electric car. And the charging pile is used for charging the electric car according to the charging control instruction. According to the invention, a technical problem that the user experience is poor because an electric car can not be charged by using a charging pile until an entity card identification is done successfully in the prior art can be solved.
