Summary:The invention provides an alarm-ahead video caching method. The method comprises the following steps of: calculating a caching space size M required for an alarm-ahead video during executing alarm video storage according to a configured alarm-ahead caching time and a code rate; taking the storage space with the size of M or (M+N) belonging to a storage block of a camera as an alarm-ahead video caching space; and storing the alarm-ahead video in the caching space. With the scheme provided by the invention, data is unnecessarily written back during giving out an alarm, the performance consumption is low, and a user experience during replaying the video is improved.
