The present invention provides a USB interface expansion apparatus. The apparatus comprises a power supply unit, one uplink U port unit, at least two downlink U port units, an indication unit and a processing unit, wherein the power supply unit is connected to the at least two downlink U port units, the indication unit and the processing unit for power supply; the processing unit is connected to the one uplink U port unit, the at least two downlink U port units and the indication unit; the one uplink U port unit can be connected to an external processing device; the at least two downlink U port units can be connected to at least two external peripheral parts; and the control unit is used for detecting a connection state of each downlink U port unit and, when detecting that any first downlink U port unit is connected to the external peripheral part, controlling the indication unit to provide a connection indication signal corresponding to the first downlink U port unit. According to the scheme, a USB interface can be expanded.
