The invention relates to a fiber connector and a fiber connector assembly. The fiber connector comprises a connector housing and a plugging core housing. The front end of the connector housing is a plugging end and the plugging core housing is disposed in the connector housing. A plugging core is assembled in the plugging core housing in a guide moving manner in the front and back direction. A plugging core spring is disposed on the rear end of the plugging core. The connector housing is provided with a front stopping surface with a backward stopping direction and used for restricting the forward moving limit of the plugging core housing. A pressing plate is disposed on the rear end of the connector housing and is provided with a hole through which a corresponding optical cable passes. The front end of the pressing plate is provided with a plugging core housing stopping surface in push cooperation with the rear end of the plugging core housing in order to stop the plugging core housing from backwardly moving. A spring stopping surface used for stopping the rear end of the plugging core spring is disposed the inner side of the plugging core housing stopping surface on the front end of the pressing plate. A problem of complex structure of a conventional fiber connector with multilayered barb structure in the prior art is solved.
