The invention discloses a preparation method of a calcium sulfate whisker. The method comprises steps as follows: step one, inorganic acid is added to a crystallizing reactor, the mixture is heated to 50 DEG C-130 DEG C while being constantly stirred, and crystallization mother liquor is prepared; step two, a solid calcium-containing raw material is ground into powder, heated to 50 DEG C-150 DEG C and then continuously and uniformly added to the crystallization mother liquor in certain time; step three, the mixture is constantly stirred, and crystallization is performed for 30 min-10 h while the temperature of a solution is maintained to range from 50 DEG C to 130 DEG C; step four, the crystallization solution is subjected to solid-liquid separation, crystals are dried, and the calcium sulfate whisker is prepared. According to the preparation method, the solid calcium-containing raw material is directly used, does not need to be mixed with water to form a thick liquid and does not need to be turned into gypsum before being used; operation is performed under normal pressure, a high-pressure reaction kettle is not required, the process is simple, the operability is high, and industrial production is facilitated; the length-diameter ratio of a prepared product is large, and the quality is high.
