Summary:The invention provides a method for testing disk power consumption. The method includes serially connecting a test tool between a hard disk backboard and a disk to be tested, connecting a current probe of an oscilloscope to each connection cable, connecting the voltage probe of the oscilloscope to ground voltage test point corresponding to each connection cable on the test tool, measuring instantaneous current value of each connection cable and instantaneous voltage value of each voltage test point, and calculating maximal instantaneous power consumption of the disk to be tested according to the instantaneous current value and the instantaneous voltage value of the oscilloscope measured. No special power consumption test device is needed, and common lab devices and a testing tool are used to measure and analyze the instantaneous power consumption of a disk without affecting normal work of the disk. The operation is simple, and the cost is low.
