The invention relates to a novel kidney-shaped shell cover which comprises a kidney-shaped shell cover body and a shell cover straight edge located on the lower portion of the kidney-shaped shell cover body. The kidney-shaped shell cover body and the shell cover straight edge are integrally formed. The kidney-shaped shell cover body comprises a left spherical face, a middle arc face and a right spherical face which are all integrally formed and consistent in thickness, and the left spherical face and the right spherical face are symmetrically arranged. The novel kidney-shaped shell cover replaces a flat cover and a square barrel, the traditional structure of an evaporator is changed, and tube-box integration is achieved, so that the production cost is reduced, and pressure losses of the evaporator are reduced; the evaporator is not prone to scaling, the service life of the evaporator is prolonged, maintenance is convenient, and high airtightness of the evaporator is guaranteed.
