Summary:In the present invention, an electrostatic capacitance sensor is mounted in a steering and detects whether or not a hand of a driver is in contact with a steering wheel. In addition, the electrostatic capacitance sensor according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises an insulating flexible substrate, a capacitance-detecting electrode, a first section, and a second section. The capacitance-detecting electrode is provided on a surface of the flexible substrate. The first section is aligned along the extension direction of the steering wheel. The second section extends from the first section in a direction orthogonal to the extension direction of the steering wheel. The capacitance sensor is formed so as to fully cover a steering core.
