For the situation that a 458 line external-expansion meter reading module is used as a local communication module on a concentrator, and in order to solve the problems of complex management and inconvenience in use since meter records of the meter reading module are required to be equipped during field use, the invention provides a method for monitoring data of an uplink 458 line and automatically detecting and managing meter records. Through 485 line data frame detection, meter address collection, meter address management and other modes, meter records are automatically detected and managed by the meter reading module, so that the meter reading module can realize local communication, data copying and reading and the like without being equipped with the meter records.
