The method includes the steps of collecting multiple pieces of position information and battery information of the electric vehicle in a first period of time, wherein the position information at least comprises the longitudes and latitudes of the electric vehicle, and the battery information at least comprises the remaining capacity of a battery of the electric vehicle; generating a movement track of the electric vehicle according to the multiple pieces of position information; displaying the movement track and remaining capacity of the electric vehicle on an electronic map. The monitoring method and device for the electric vehicle solve the technical problem that the running status of the electric vehicle can not be effectively monitored.
