The invention discloses a digital display type capacitor discharger and a detection method. The digital display type capacitor discharger comprises a capacitor charging/discharging module, wherein a power input end of the capacitor charging/discharging module is connected with a power output end of a power input module, a power output end of the capacitor charging/discharging module is connected with a load resistor, a controller is connected with a control end of the capacitor charging/discharging module to realize charging and discharging of a capacitor, a display signal input end of a display module is connected with a display signal output end of the controller, an acquisition signal output end of an acquisition module is connected with the controller, a display module displays one or any combination of voltage, discharging current and load resistance of the capacitor charging/discharging module acquired by the acquisition module, an output end of a rotary encoder is connected with an encode input end of the controller, and the controller controls output voltage of the power input module according to a signal output by the rotary encoder. The digital display type capacitor discharger and the detection method can simulate the chip discharging process of a digital electronic detonator, and can acquire data needed for test quickly.
