Summary:The present invention relates to a filter appliance (1) having a filter housing (2) and a ring filter element (3) that is mountable into the filter housing (2), wherein the ring filter element (3) has, on a lower end disc (4) an axially protruding pin (5) which in the assembled state engages into a channel (6) of the filter housing (2). It is essential to the invention in this case that for mounting the ring filter element (3) into the filter housing (2), a guide contour (15) and two guide elements (17, 18) are provided, wherein the guide contour has at least two axial grooves (19, 20). In this case the respective guide element (17, 18) is constructed so as to be complementary to such an associated axial groove (19, 20), in such a manner, that the guide contour (15) interacts with the axial grooves (19, 20) and the guide elements (17, 18) according to the lock and key principle.
