Summary:The invention discloses a backplane connecting system and method for a blade server. The system comprises a side backplane, wherein one side of the side backplane is connected to side surfaces of computational node board cards through connectors, and the other side of the side backplane is connected with a first function module of the blade server. According to the scheme, the problem that the signal quality and completeness are affected due to the fact that an existing high-speed signal needs to be transmitted for a too long distance to a rear-end backplane, a connecting wire is too long and the signal is easily interfered and attenuated is solved, and more and more flexible extended functions can be provided.
