The invention discloses a method for adjusting water hardness of washing water in a washing machine. The method comprises following steps: conductivity detectors are arranged at different positions of the washing machine, and are used for being in contact with the washing water so as to detect the conductivity of the washing water; when the conductivity detectors obtain the conductivity of the washing water, the conductivity detectors communicate with a first controller arranged on the washing machine and send conductivity data of the washing water to the first controller; data contrast relations among the conductivity data, water hardness data and power-phos amounts are pre-stored in the first controller, when the first controller receives the conductivity data, the first controller calculates the average value of the conductivity data and compares the average value and the preset conductivity data; if the average value is within the threshold of the preset conductivity data, power-phos with a proper amount is added into the washing water according to the contrast relations; if the average value is larger than the maximum value, the power-phos with an amount corresponding to the maximum value is added into the washing water; and if the average value is less than the minimum value, the power-phos is not added into the washing water.
