Summary:The invention discloses a side-fed bridge girder erection machine and a girder erection method thereof. The side-fed bridge girder erection machine comprises pier-side brackets fixed to at least two piers; two legs capable of telescoping in the vertical direction are arranged above the pier-side bracket on each pier; each leg is transversely provided with a cantilever girder corresponding to a rail beam; each rail beam is provided with a weight and a shifting system slidably disposed in the transverse direction; a main girder is disposed between the shifting systems longitudinally along the rail beam; the main girder is longitudinally and vertically provided with a lifting cart used for lifting the rail beam. By providing the pier-side brackets, the legs, the cantilever girders, the shifting systems, the main girder and the lifting carton the piers, with the shifting systems allowing the lifting cart to transversely move on the cantilever girders on the piers and the lifting cart capable of transversely moving relative to the piers, left and right bidirectional feeding is achieved; compared to the existing middle-fed girder erection machines, the side-fed bridge girder erection machine is simple in structure, simple to mount, higher in girder lifting speed and higher in girder feeding efficiency.
