The invention discloses a lime pellet and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the steps of adding water into unslaked lime to perform fermentation treatment to obtain powder slaked lime; adding carbon powder and adhesive into the powder slaked lime and performing mixing to obtain first mixture; performing agitation treatment in a mixing mill to enable the color of the first mixture to become dark from light until small particle pellets appear; performing cold press molding treatment to the first mixture subjected to the agitation treatment in the mixing mill to obtain wet pellets; performing air-drying treatment to the wet pellets to obtain the lime pellets. The lime pellets prepared by using the method have the advantages of good formability and high air permeability.
