The invention discloses a telephone system based on a pluggable telephone adapter with a USB (universal serial bus) interface. The telephone system comprises a mainframe and the telephone adapter, the mainframe comprises a USB interface, the telephone adapter comprises the USB interface, a processor and a wireless radio-frequency transceiving system module in sequential connection, the telephone adapter is mobile and pluggable and in plug connection with the USB interface of the mainframe through the USB interface, the mainframe is respectively connected with a microphone and a loudspeaker, and the wireless radio-frequency transceiving system module is in wireless connection with a base station. The telephone adapter is a miniature plug-and-play telephone and can be plugged to equipment such as a set top box, a tablet computer and the like through the USB interface to serve as a telephone, and dual SIM dual standby function can be realized when the telephone adapter is plugged into a common telephone. The pluggable telephone adapter can serve as a fixed telephone at home and serve as a mobile phone at mobile places. Under the general background of integration of three networks, the telephone system has more extensive market prospect. The telephone adapter without external equipment is low in cost, and functional versatility can be realized after the telephone adapter is plugged into the mainframe.
