The invention provides a washing machine and a liquid detergent detection device for the same. The liquid detergent detection device for the washing machine comprises a detection module, a power supply module, a switching module and a controller, wherein the detection module is used for detecting a liquid detergent in a liquid detergent box of the washing machine so as to generate a detection signal; the power supply module is used for outputting a direct current with a first preset voltage through a first power terminal and a second power terminal; the switching module is connected with the detection module as well as the first power terminal and the second power terminal of the power supply module; the controller is connected with the switching module and the detection module, and is used for controlling the switching module so as to power the detection module with the direct current, with the first preset voltage, output by the power supply module and judging whether the liquid detergent exists in the liquid detergent box according to the received detection signal. The washing machine and the liquid detergent detection device for the same are simple in structure, easy to realize, low in cost and convenient for function extension by the modularized design and are capable of greatly meeting the demands of users.
