The invention discloses a lithium ion secondary battery negative pole piece and a preparation method thereof. The gram volume of a battery cathode main material and the rate discharge of a battery can be improved. The negative pole piece is prepared from the following ingredients by mass percent: 92.8 to 95.1 percent of graphite mixture, 0.8 to 1.5 percent of a carbon nano-tube (CNT), 0.6 to 1.2 percent of carbon black (SP), 1.5 to 1.8 percent of carboxymethyl cellulose sodium (CMC) and 2.0 to 2.7 percent of styrene butadiene polymer (SBR). By virtue of the collective action of the tubular structure of the conducting agent (CNT) and the spotted conducting structure of SP, the electrochemical performance of the negative pole piece can be improved, the rate of the discharge current is maintained at 89 to 99 percent, and the development prospect is wide.
