Summary:The invention provides a method and device for detecting a blood vessel in an image. The method comprises that a significance area of the blood vessel is detected in the image to be detected in multiple significance detection methods to obtain multiple significance images; the significance images are integrated to obtain a fusion image; a closed area is searched through the fusion image and serves as a candidate blood vessel area; features are extracted from the candidate blood vessel area; and based on the extracted features, a trained classifier is used to detect a blood vessel area from the candidate blood vessel area. Thus, a more accurate detection result of the blood vessel can be obtained.
