Summary: | The method relates to a method for creating winter dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds. The method is characterized in that winter (or semi-winter) wheat is used as a male parent under a natural ecological condition in a winter (or semi-winter) ecological area; the dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds is continuously subjected to back crossing with the male parent; the seeds of dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds are selected from progeny individuals of the dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds subjected to back crossing for sowing in autumn in order to naturally eliminate non-anti-freezing spring (or partial spring) dwarf male-sterile wheat plant individuals with blue seeds, the progeny individuals showing high anti-freezing performance in the wintering period, of winter dwarf male-sterile wheat plants with blue seeds, are selected and subjected to back crossing again; the date of sowing in autumn is gradually advanced each year, so as to gradually improve the selection of the winter dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds; after performing back crossing to reach 8th to 10th generations, the winter dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds can be created and has winter or semi-winter genetic background as well as blue seeds, dwarf stalks and male sterile linkage markers. With the adoption of the method, the genetic background of winter dwarf male-sterile wheat with blue seeds can be transformed from spring or semi spring property to winter or semi winter property, which creates conditions for applying wheat in Huang-Huai River Valley and north winter wheat regions based on the heterosis. |
