The invention provides a composting machine and method for kitchen garbage. The composting machine comprises a hopper, a crusher, a screw conveyer, a fermentation tank and an oil-water separation tank, wherein the crusher is arranged below the hopper, a crushing cutter is arranged in the crusher, the screw conveyer is arranged at the downstream part of the crusher and is obliquely connected up to the fermentation tank by virtue of a conveying pipe, and the bottom of the screw conveyer is connected with the oil-water separator by a pipeline. When the composting machine is used, the solid garbage part in the kitchen garbage is processed into fertilizer in the fermentation tank and the fertilizer can be used for cultivating flowers and vegetables; the liquid garbage part in the kitchen garbage is subjected to oil-water separation and then is processed into a hydrotropic substance by a grease decomposing and deodorizing device and the hydrotropic substance is discharged together with water; therefore, the kitchen garbage can be prevented from being taken as the raw material of swill-cooked dirty oil. Due to use of an air deodorizing device and the grease decomposing and deodorizing device, the whole composting machine does not generate odor, thereby avoiding environment pollution.
