Summary:The invention discloses an adaptive method and a mobile terminal of a session context in instant communication. The method comprises the steps: obtaining current context information, wherein the context information comprises time and/or place information; turning on the session context corresponding to the current context information according to the preset corresponding relation between the context information and the session context, so that automatic switching of the session context in the instant communication according to context change is realized, and manual switching of the session context is not needed by users. On one hand, the use of the users is facilitated, on the other hand, the unpredictability and use fun of the instant communication are enhanced, the use efficiency of the session context is greatly improved, and the optimal use habits of the users are developed.
