Summary:The present disclosure is directed to a skin protectant formulation that is designed to be sprayed onto human skin for the purpose of protecting the skin. In particular, an exemplary formulation of the present disclosure contains at least a carrier, a structurant and a skin protectant agent. An exemplary formulation contains a carrier comprising at least water, a structurant comprising at least a laponite clay, and a skin protectant agent comprising petrolatum. Typically, the skin protectant formulation will comprise at least about 30 wt. % of a skin protectant agent. A continuous spray dispenser may be used to apply the skin protectant formulation to reduce the need for rubbing as the treated area can be covered by a mist of the skin protectant formulation requiring no need to rub for application or small droplets that do not require extensive time for rubbing in.
