Summary:The present invention provides a suspension system and a method for control of the motion of a piston in a shock absorber housing. The suspension system comprises: a piston; a hydraulic motor, which comprises a first port in communication with fluid of compressed volume and a second port in communication with fluid of expansion volume; a generator, operatively coupled to the hydraulic motor, wherein, in a first operation state, the generator is driven as an electric motor so that the hydraulic motor is operated as a hydraulic pump to apply a main power to the piston, and in the second operating state, the generator resists the movement so that the hydraulic motor can apply a damping force to the piston.
