The invention relates to a huge type mill, in particular to a lifting method for the huge type mill. A transverse sliding and vertical hydraulic jacking lifting method for a super-huge type mill housing frame comprises a transverse sliding step and a vertical hydraulic jacking lifting step of the mill housing frame. According to the transverse sliding step, a front and back sliding trolley walking on a rail is utilized for moving the mill housing frame to be in place; and according to the vertical hydraulic jacking lifting step, a hydraulic jacking device is utilized for completing jacking of the mill housing frame, then, devices like a trolley on the lower portion are removed, and then the hydraulic jacking device is utilized for descending the mill housing frame to be in place. The method has the advantages of being low in construction cost, safe, reliable and the like.
