The invention relates to a loading space cover for vehicles with a loading space (4)arranged between the rear seats (3) and a rear door (2), consisting of a cassette (6) transverse mounted relative to the vehicle and with a flexible tarpaulin (5) capable of sliding forward and backward in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and for selectably covering the loading space (4); one axle rotatably mounted on the cassette (6) and on which the tarpaulin (5) can be wound and unwound; guide rails (7) at both sides of the loading space (4) and approximately horizontally extending in direction of the vehicle for receiving the cassette (6); and slide equipment capable of manually driving each of the two guide rails (7) and displacing the cassette (6) between an use position immediately behind the rear seats (3) and an access position (15) set back towards the rear door (2). The invention enables the load space to be arranged in a way that the cassette (6) is comfortably mounted or dismounted at an ergonomically favorable position.
