The invention discloses a method for extracting taurine from a taurine mother liquid. The method comprises the following steps: introducing the taurine mother liquid containing a certain concentration of taurine and inorganic salt into a primary purification section for primary purification, separating the liquid which is purified at the primary purification section, directly introducing a high-concentration taurine liquid of which the taurine mass fraction is higher than 99.0% into a collection section for collection, introducing the rest primary taurine into a front purification section, introducing a primary inorganic salt liquid which flows after the primary taurine liquid into a rear purification section, and finally introducing water into the collection section for collection; and finally, further separating the primary taurine liquid and the primary inorganic salt liquid at the front purification section and the rear purification section respectively. The energy consumption is relatively greatly reduced in the purification process, the taurine is thoroughly separated from inorganic salt, no wastes are generated in the whole process of the purification method, the total yield and the quality of taurine are remarkably increased, and the quality of taurine is remarkably improved, so that the method is an ideal environment-friendly process.
