A liquid-crystal display device (10) comprises: LEDs (17); a liquid-crystal panel (11) which carries out a display using light from the LEDs (17); a chassis (14) which is positioned on a side which faces a side of a display face (11c) whereupon the display of the liquid-crystal panel (11) is carried out; a rectangular frame (13) which is positioned on the side of the display face (11c) of the liquid-crystal panel (11), and which houses at least the liquid-crystal panel (11) and the LEDs (17) in a form wherein the rectangular frame (13) sandwiches the liquid-crystal panel (11) and the LEDs (17) with the chassis (14); positioning ribs (23) which protrude from the frame (13) toward the chassis (14) side, and the lateral faces of the positioning ribs (23) face the lateral faces of the liquid-crystal panel (11), positioning the liquid-crystal panel (11); facing parts (25) which are disposed in sites of the liquid-crystal panel (11) which face the positioning ribs (23); and gel-shaped members (30) which are elastic and are positioned in gaps between the positioning ribs (23) and the facing parts (25).
