Summary:Provided is a tapping screw that provides sufficient fastening force even if used with a thin screw-receiving member and member being fastened. Said tapping screw (100) is provided with a first thread (11) and a second thread (12) designed such that the ends thereof are 180 degrees out of phase. The tapping screw (100) is screwed into a pilot hole provided in advance in a screw-receiving member. A member being fastened is thereby fastened to said screw-receiving member. This tapping screw (100) is characterized in that a first fastening-force improvement thread (13) and a second fastening-force improvement thread (14) that are set so as to be smaller than the outside diameters of complete thread sections of parallel thread sections of the first thread (11) and the second thread (12) but larger than the inside diameter of the pilot hole are provided in regions, 90 degrees out of phase with the first thread (11) and the second thread (12), respectively, such that said fastening-force improvement threads bite into the pilot hole when the screw is fully screwed in.
