The invention relates to a vacuum melting furnace, and particularly relates to a vacuum melting furnace with a pneumatic gate valve protection device. The vacuum melting furnace with the pneumatic gate valve protection device comprises a vacuum melting furnace body, wherein the upper part of the vacuum melting furnace body is connected with a main charging chamber; the bottom of the main charging chamber is provided with a pneumatic gate valve; an air cylinder of the pneumatic gate valve is additionally provided with an aluminium silicate felt layer which is externally provided with a steel outer shell; and the top of the steel outer shell is fixed on the air cylinder of the pneumatic gate valve via a stud and a nut. According to the invention, the air cylinder of the of the pneumatic gate valve is additionally provided with the aluminium silicate felt layer which is externally provided with the steel outer shell, so that the air cylinder of the pneumatic gate valve can be prevented from being damaged by a high-temperature environment, the service lives of the air cylinder and a pneumatic element are prolonged, and the normal running of production is ensured.
