Summary:The invention discloses a breeding method for a corn male sterile line. A male sterile line of corn selfing line is obtained by backcross breeding with corn S-type cytoplasmic male sterile line MD32CGMCC No.8657 as a donor and the corn selfing line as an acceptor. Experiments demonstrate that the breeding method provided by the invention has the following advantages that (1) by combining a marker-assisted selection technology and the backcross breeding technology, the breeding speed of the sterile line is accelerated and Jing 724 sterile line S-jing 724 can be obtained only by three backcross generations; and (2) the S-type sterile line MD32 selected by the breeding method presents stable and thorough sterility in a plurality of genetic backgrounds and is not used in reported studies on corn hybrid male sterile breeding.
