The application provides a method and a device for checking uniqueness of data. The method comprises the steps of: when to-be-stored data are received, generating a target index based on the to-be-stored data and obtaining an index table preset in a primary database, wherein indexes of stored data in the primary database are stored in the index table, and the indexes are set as primary keys; performing target index writing operation on the index table to obtain writing results; determining that the to-be-stored data have no uniqueness if the writing results include primary key repeated information; determining that the to-be-stored data have uniqueness if no primary key repeated information exists in the writing results. What needs to be explained is that the embodiment of the invention is to perform the writing operation on the index table in the primary data and determine whether the to-be-stored data in the primary database have uniqueness based on whether the primary key repeated information is returned by the index table.
